Introducing the New 109 Plastic Pallet: Light on Weight, Strong in Action
Plasgad presents the new 109 pallet (1200 × 1000 mm) — a next-generation solution designed to deliver strong performance while significantly reducing self-weight. Developed as a smart advancement to the existing 107 and 110 models, the 109 combines enhanced structural integrity with improved usability for high-volume shipping.
Engineered to weigh just 5.35 kg, the 109 offers a dynamic load capacity of 1000 kg and a static capacity of 1,800 kg, delivering the strength required for demanding logistics operations while helping customers reduce transport costs, especially in air freight, exports and large-scale distribution.
Reinforced structure for better handling
The 109 features a redesigned deck and stronger legs, resulting in improved durability and more secure support for goods during transport. Its upgraded leg geometry also ensures smoother and safer destacking — making daily handling faster, easier, and more reliable for operators.
As the R&D team explains: “Innovation for us means designing smarter, cleaner and more efficient products. With the 109, we achieved a lighter pallet that delivers strong performance, supports air freight and high-volume shipments, all while keeping sustainability at the core.”

A clean, hygienic and export-ready solution
Unlike wood pallets, the 109 does not absorb moisture and is free from mold, pests and splinters — an important advantage for food, pharma and any industry where hygiene is essential. It also requires no fumigation, making it ideal for companies shipping globally and ensuring compliance with international regulations.
Its clean, washable design ensures safe handling and helps companies maintain hygiene standards throughout their supply chain.
Optimized nestability for high-volume operations
With a 1:4 nesting ratio, the 109 allows customers to maximize every centimeter of warehouse and transport space. This makes it particularly suitable for industries that ship large volumes of goods, where reducing storage footprint directly translates into meaningful cost savings.
More units per stack mean fewer trips, streamlined storage, and a more efficient supply chain overall.
Now produced in Spain — closer to European customers
A significant milestone accompanies the launch: production of the 109 pallet is now being expanded to Spain, strengthening Plasgad’s local manufacturing capabilities. Producing closer to key European markets allows for shorter delivery times, greater flexibility and a more resilient supply chain. This strategic step ensures faster service and better support for our growing customer base across Europe.
Customizable for different operational needs
The 109 can be tailored to suit a variety of applications. It can be configured with optional skids for better stability, safety rims to improve load retention and branding and marking options to support traceability and operational efficiency. Like all Plasgad products, the 109 is fully recyclable and developed with sustainability in mind.
A smart alternative to wood
Combining light weight, cleanliness, nestability and consistent performance, the 109 offers a high-value plastic solution with a much lower environmental footprint than wood — without the hygiene challenges, regulatory requirements or variability of wooden pallets, especially in demanding logistics scenarios such as air freight.
